Wear Twins Together in a Sling

Many parenting experts recommend wearing your baby in a sling. The snugness of the sling close against your body is extremely comforting to your newborn. It's similar to the warmth and security of the womb. But what if you have twins? Can you wear twins together in a sling? Twins benefit as much from the closeness of being worn in a sling the same as a single baby does. Read on to learn how to wear twins together in a sling.

Difficulty: Moderately Challenging
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Sling both babies together in a ring sling. Twins actually enjoy the familiar feeling of being pushed together--just like they were in the womb.

  2. Step 2

Use pouches to wear twins together in a sling. Pouches are slings that are non-adjustable. Some come with a zipper or button enclosure. They are made of a very light material and can be easily stored in your diaper bag. You should be able to easily wear your twins together in one pouch until they are at least two- to four-months-old. Make sure to use an extra-large pouch so that both twins will fit the pouch.

  3. Step 3

Wear your twins in a wrap. Wraps can sometimes be complicated to tie on, but you can securely wear your twins with some good instruction and practice. There are a variety of ways to wear your babies with a wrap. Tie them front facing or back facing in front of you or behind you. Or sling them together on your hip.

  4. Step 4

Combine carriers as your twins grow bigger. Put one twin in a front facing carrier and the other in a back carrier. You can even combine a carrier with sling for variation.
