How to Promote a Child's Imagination

  1. Step 1

Teaching your child how to use their imagination is not difficult, but it does require your time and participation. Telling them fabricated bed time stories helps them to visualize the story.

  2. Step 2

Another way to promote imagination is to play with your children. Build a tent of blankets in your living room and pretend it is a house in the wilderness. Make your children role play with you.

  3. Step 3

If you have a back yard and some boxes you can pretend that you are pirates on the open sea. Role playing is very good for your child and it allows them to become someone else. While you role play come up with inventive ideas that can be played out in the game.

  4. Step 4

Have your child tell you stories or allow them to participate when you tell them bed time stories. Participating in your child's play life helps to teach them imagination. This also helps develop a broader intelligence.
