Step 1
If you see little glimmers or large booms of creativity coming from your child, there are ways to encourage that creativity to grow. Get out the crayons, markers, pens, pencils, paint and paper, scissors and boxes.
Create "something from nothing" to spark their creativity. For example, create a castle out of a box. Cut the top to resemble a castle, then cut a large oval drawbridge-type door. Make people out of paper and color them. Make as many details as you want out of paper, being sure to add details. -
Step 2
Next, create a fun atmosphere where creativity can flourish. Turn on some music and put out tablecloths that can get ruined. Take away as much stress as possible so the adults aren't worried about the practical things. Then give the children some ideas on how to get started, and let them go in their own direction.

Step 3
Don't insist on accuracy. If your children want to make the trees purple and the grass pink, let them do it. Comment on how creative it is. Let them think "outside the box" on their projects.

Step 4
Be sure to display the "artwork" proudly so the children will be thinking of other things to create.
