How to Make Sour Cream Mushroom Sauce

The wonderful thing about this sour ceam mushroom sauce recipe that my grandmother created many years back, is its versatility. You can serve this with almost any kind of meat and it even stands up well with poulty.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 1 cup of sour cream
  • 1 tablespoon of grated onion
  • 1/2 teaspoon of of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of paprika
  • 1/4 cup dice mushrooms
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  1. Step 1

    In the top of a double boiler heat the sour cream, grated onion and skinned, diced mushrooms.

  2. Step 2

    While this is cooking, make a smooth paste of the flour, salt and paprika by adding two tablespoons of cold water.

  3. Step 3

    Add the paste to the hot cream mixture, stirring constantly.

  4. Step 4

    Cook until the mixture is thick.

  5. Step 5

    Add the sauce to hamburger balls, chicken or steak.
