How to Eliminate Baked on Grease From the Outside of a Pan

Getting baked on grease off of pans can really be a chore. If you do not want to scrub and scrub, or you just do not have the time there is a simpler way.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Spray the outside of your pot or pan with oven cleaner, being careful not to get it on the inside of the pot or pan.
Step2
Place the pot or pan in the plastic bag still up side down and place 2 caps of ammonia in the bag.
Step3
Tie the bag of and leave for a couple of hours.
Step4
Take the pans out of the bag and rinse off.

Tips & Warnings

  • There usually is no scrubbing involved. You can also use this technique on oven racks, removable stove top burner covers, and even the inside of an unheated oven.
  • DO NOT ever place Ammonia in an oven that is on.
  • DO NOT ever place plastic bag near a flame
  • Make sure that the area you leave the bag in has proper ventilation
  • NEVER leave bag where children can reach it.
