How to Cook Cabbage Rolls

Step1
Bring a large pot of water to a boil. Take your cabbage and cut the core from the bottom and place the whole head of cabbage in the boiling water. As the cabbage becomes partially cooked it loosen from the rest of the head. Periodically flip the head of cabbage so that it can cook on all sides. As each cabbage leaf becomes tender remove it from the boiling water and place on a plate. When you have completed this task remove the remaining cabbage from the water and set aside.
Step2
In a large mixing bowl place 2 pounds of hamburger, diced onion, 2 eggs and 1 cup of rice. Take the left over cabbage that is to small to use and dice some into the meat mixture, saving the rest of the diced cabbage for later. Mix the meat mixture thoroughly.
Step3
Take your plate of cabbage leafs and your bowl of meat mixture and begin to place the meat mixture on to the cabbage leaf toward the bottom of the leaf. You want to place enough of the meat mixture on to the leaf(you want the meat to look like a baseball or small loaf)fold each side of the cabbage leaf over the meat and roll the bottom of the leaf over and over until the meat is completely encased. Place in a roasting pan.
Step4
Gather your 8 cans tomato sauce, 1 clove of garlic, 2 mushroom gravy packets, and remaining diced cabbage combine in a bowl. Pore mixture over the cabbage rolls in the roasting pan. Cover the pan with a lid or tin foil and place in the oven at 375 degrees for 1 1/2 to 2 hours. Remove from oven and serve with side dish. Recipe serves 6.
