Things You'll Need:

  • Adobe InDesign 2
  • Windows XP
  • Adobe PDF

    How to Export a Document to Adobe PDF

  1. Step 1

    Open an Adobe InDesign document. Select EXPORT from the File menu to open the Export window.

  2. Step 2

    Click the drop-down arrow in the Save In field. Find a destination folder to save the PDF.

  3. Step 3

    Rename the file in the File Name field, if necessary.

  4. Step 4

    Click the drop-down arrow in the Save As Type field. Select ADOBE PDF from the list.

  5. Step 5

    Click SAVE to open the Export Adobe PDF window.

  6. Step 6

    Select the ALL PAGES option from the Export Adobe PDF window.

  7. Step 7

    Insert checkmarks to Include HYPERLINKS and BOOKMARKS in the PDF, if applicable.

  8. Step 8

    Click EXPORT to open the Generating PDF window. This action will display the progress bar to indicate the remaining time needed to export the document to PDF. The Generating PDF window will close automatically upon completion.

Tips & Warnings
  • The Export Adobe PDF window also contains options to define the document's security settings, file size, print quality and compatibility options.
  • Find and open the PDF document you created to ensure that all hyperlinks are operable, if applicable.
