How to Make White Sauce for Cream Soups

If you are needing a white sauce for cream soups, you'll enjoy this simple recipe that was my Grandma's. You can make it quickly to turn an ordinary soup into something special.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 2 tablespoons of butter
  • 2 tablespoons of flour
  • 2 cups of milk
  • 1 teaspoon of salt
  • 1/4 teaspoon of pepper
  1. Step 1

    Melt the butter.

  2. Step 2

    Stir the flour into the melted butter.

  3. Step 3

    When the flour is well blended into the melted butter, add milk.

  4. Step 4

    Cook the mixture until it starts to thicken.

  5. Step 5

    Add salt and papper.

  6. Step 6

    Add vegetable puree or other ingredients for your desired cream soups.
