Sponge a TV Serving Tray
Sponge a TV Serving Tray

Take out that old TV tray and add some spray paint, sponged motifs and your tray is ready to hold a delectable treat! This fun and crafty idea is a great idea for serving snacks and food on New Year's Day!

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • TV Tray
  • Variety of different colored acrylic paint
  • Craft sponges
  • Clear Sealant
  • Scissors
  1. Step 1

Lightly wash the TV tray. With the TV tray assembled, spray the entire surface with a desired color. Apply second coat if needed. Let dry overnight for coat to harden.

  2. Step 2

Mix acrylic colors (red, blue, orange, yellow, white, etc) Cut shapes (stars, circles, squares) out of the sponge. Dab a small amount of paint into a color and lightly press the shape onto the TV tray. A border can be made by placing shapes all around the outside edge of the tray.

  3. Step 3

When applying a color over another color, let the first coat dry first before applying the second coat. A fun look to also give the tray is to take a toothbrush and dip it into the white paint and rub finger across the brush to give the tray a splattered look. Be creative.

  4. Step 4

When the tray is dry, coat with a clear sealant and let dry overnight. A spray sealer will work also. Now, you are ready to enjoy the New Year with a brand new DECORATED TV TRAY, Happy New Year!
