If you're like me, the elegant and delicious baked Brie you pull from your oven as guests arrive is cold and drooping halfway through your party. This guide will show you how to make bite-size baked Brie that will stay warm and appetizing for the whole affair.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • 3 to 5 sheets of phyllo dough.
  • 1 wedge of Brie cheese
  • 1 stick of butter, melted
  • 1 cookie sheet
  • Basting brush
  • Tin foil (optional)
  • Warming tray (optional)
  1. Step 1

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees F and cover a cookie sheet with tin foil.

  2. Step 2

Roll your phyllo dough out on a clean, dry surface such as your counter. Take care: phyllo is quite delicate and can tear easily. Cut the phyllo sheets into quarters.

  3. Step 3

Cut your cheese into bite-size wedges, cubes, or balls.

  4. Step 4

Microwave your butter in a small microwave safe bowl

  5. Step 5

Lay one quarter of one sheet of phyllo dough on the cookie sheet and brush on butter.

  6. Step 6

Place a piece of cheese in one corner, far enough from the edge to be able to seal it in when you roll it. Roll over the cheese, brushing each exposed surface of the dough, until the cheese is wrapped several times.

  7. Step 7

Repeat step 5 for remaining pieces of cheese.

  8. Step 8

Fold any "leftover" phyllo underneath the pieces to prevent burning and baste butter on top of the appetizers one last time.

  9. Step 9

Put your cookie sheet in the oven on a middle rack for 5 to 8 minutes. Keep a close watch on your appetizers during this time, as they may cook slightly faster, depending on your oven.

  10. Step 10

Using a spatula, gently scoop the appetizers off the cookie sheet and onto a serving tray. Use an electric warming tray if possible, as this will keep your appetizers warm and soft throughout the whole party.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make sure you have your ingredients prepared before melting your butter, because it will congeal while you unwrap your phyllo and cheese.
  • You can use processed soft cheeses available in supermarkets if you're in a hurry.
  • Margarine is a suitable alternative for butter in this guide.
