Things You'll Need:
- A Legal Copy of Microsoft Word
- Internet Connection
- Computer Paper
-
Step 1
Decide on a preschool worksheet theme. Of course, you will want your theme to be Christmas, but you will want to focus on the worksheet in question. This is best done by examining what you would like your child to learn or what they need to improve on. For example, if you would like to teach your child to read, you may want to focus on Christmas preschool worksheets that deal with beginning sounds, and so forth.
-
Step 2
Visit the online website for Microsoft, located at www.microsoft.com. Next, select “Office,” from the menu bar. Then, choose the “Clip Art and Media,” link. If you have a valid, legal copy of Microsoft Office, you will be given free access to over 150,000 media related items, including clipart.
-
Step 3
When it comes to finding free clipart on the online website for Microsoft, you will want to perform a standard search. Underneath the search box, you should be able to customize your search. This is nice as you can determine what you want to get, such as clipart or photographs or even black and white clipart. Be sure to search with Christmas words or phrases, such as “Christmas,” “Christmas tree,” or “Christmas gifts.”
-
Step 4
Downloading the Christmas clipart you choose is easy, as there is an option right in the sidebar on the Microsoft website. You will have to agree to their terms of service. Once the download is complete, all clipart will automatically appear in your Microsoft Word clipart organizer.
-
Step 5
Open up a new Microsoft Word document. At the top of the page, in bigger font, create a name for your Christmas preschool worksheet, such as “Christmas Beginning Sounds.” Next, state the directions, such as “match each picture to letter it begins with.”
Although not necessarily required, directions will help if you plan to save your Christmas preschool worksheets for your child to use later. -
Step 6
To insert the clipart, you will want to select “Insert,” from the menu bar. Next, select “Clipart.” You will then next want to select “Clip Art Organizer.” A new box will appear with all of your Christmas clipart, which you previously downloaded from the Microsoft website. Copy the Christmas clipart that you would like to see on your Christmas preschool worksheet and paste them into your Word document.
-
Step 7
Once your Christmas clipart is pasted into your Microsoft Word document, you will find that they come in all different sizes. You will want to resize all images so that they are the same size. It is also advised that you maximize your space, just make sure that all images are viewable.
-
Step 8
After the clipart has been inserted onto your page, you will want to do the rest of your Christmas preschool worksheet. The next step that you take will all depend on what type of preschool worksheet you want to create.
In keeping with beginning sounds, you will want to line all Christmas pictures on one side of the page and then the letters that each picture begins with on the other side. Be sure to mix up the pictures and the letters so that the worksheet isn’t too easy for your child. -
Step 9
Review and print.
