How to Collaborate With Other Teachers

It's often a good idea to plan a cross-curriculum lesson with another teacher. Here's how to make it work.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Work with teachers of subjects that complement your own. English teachers work well with history or social studies teachers. Math teachers work well with science teachers.
Step2
Elect one teacher to be the group's chair if working in a group of two or more. That way, there's a single person all the others can report to.
Step3
Brainstorm lesson ideas, and vote among the group as to the best of the bunch.
Step4
Consult with other teachers as to what kind of cross-curricular lessons have worked well in the past. Learn from experience.
Step5
Decide on the final lesson plans, and submit them for approval from the school administrators.
Step6
If a lesson seems to not be working, reconvene your group and work together on tweaking it.
