A clean home can make you feel more relaxed, organized and calm. However, during a busy week, it can seem impossible to keep your home clean, let alone to achieve a calm state. Follow these steps and devote 15 minutes a day to the cleanliness of your home, and you will find it's easy to stay on track and keep it spotless, no matter how busy your week gets.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Cleaning supplies
  • 15 spare minutes a day
  1. Step 1

On Mondays, take 15 minutes to dust and wipe down all surfaces in your home. Use a duster on wood surfaces and a rag with cleaner on countertop surfaces. This can even be done in the morning before you start your day.

  2. Step 2

Use your 15 minutes on Tuesdays to clean the bathrooms. Focus on the main fixtures such as the toilet, sink and bathtub. Use a strong bathroom cleaner with a sponge to scrub out any spots. You can do this task while catching up on phone calls or listening to the radio.

  3. Step 3

The kitchen should be your main focus on Wednesdays. Clean all countertop surfaces and the sink. Be sure to use a kitchen cleaner or soap and water in the kitchen so no strong chemicals are exposed to food. Put away any dishes or food that may be out. If you still have a few extra minutes, skim through the refrigerator and pantry to throw out anything that may be old or expired. You can perform these tasks while you’re cleaning up from Wednesday night’s dinner.

  4. Step 4

Take 15 minutes on Thursdays to sweep all the tile floors in your home, such as the kitchen and bathrooms. Take a damp rag and a few squirts of cleaner and wipe up any visible spots on these floor surfaces. Sweeping the tile can be done while watching TV or waiting for dinner to cook.

  5. Step 5

If you have carpet in your home, Fridays should be spent vacuuming for 15 minutes. Be sure to get all the carpets in your home, including all bedrooms or living areas. Take a sponge with some carpet cleaner to remove any carpet stains or spots that are visible. If you have only tile or wood floors in your home, take this time to sweep and mop these areas. Vacuuming or mopping can be done while washing laundry or listening to music.

  6. Step 6

On Saturday mornings, take 15 minutes before you start your weekend to do an overall spot check of your house. Take a tour with a damp rag and wipe any spots on the floor or on any surfaces. Straighten any surface items and put away any stray dishes.

  7. Step 7

Enjoy the rest of your weekend in your clean home! You don’t have to block out 2 hours on Sunday to clean since you’ve gotten it all done during the week. Sit down with your coffee and the newspaper and relax.

on 5/6/2009 Good Article. This is where I'll miss my kids one on these day. I make everyone including my husband pitch in a little everyday. Never leave dirty dish out over night.
