Yummy Chocolate Almond Croissants.. the rich croissant pastry, the dark chocolate and the crunchy almonds are a gourmet delight... at a gourmet price.

Make these quick almost home made ones for half the price.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Chocolate Ganache find recipe in resources below
  • plain butter croissants from the bakery
  • slivered almonds
  • confectioners or powdered sugar
  • cookie sheet
  1. Step 1

    Preheat oven to 325 degrees

  2. Step 2

    spread slivered almonds on cookie sheet

  3. Step 3

    Bake almonds just a few minutes. Time will vary according to the moisture content of the almonds. You will know they are done when they become fragrant and are just turning golden and toasty

  4. Step 4

    Remove from oven.

  5. Step 5

    Remove from baking sheet to cool

  6. Step 6

    Make Chocolate Ganache find recipe in resources below

  7. Step 7

    Drizzle warm ganache over tops of croissants

  8. Step 8

    Sprinkle tops with toasted almonds.

  9. Step 9

    Lightly press the almonds into the ganache so they stick to the croissants

  10. Step 10

    Sprinkle croissants with powdered sugar

Tips & Warnings
  • Add a little Amaretto to the Chocolate Ganache for a little extra almond flavor
  • Watch the almonds carefully in the oven. They will go from toasted to toast in seconds.....
