How to Make Scented Hand Towels

In many Asian countries, a meal begins with hot towels used for cleaning the hands before eating. Offer dinner guests a warm hand towel that has a lovely scent.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Small washcloths, preferably terry cloth
  • Dried flowers
  • Cheesecloth
  • Twine
  1. Step 1

    Wrap a small amount of dried rosebuds, lavender and fennel in a few layers of cheesecloth or loosely woven muslin, and tie it closed with kitchen twine.

  2. Step 2

    Steep the sachet in a teapot for just a few minutes.

  3. Step 3

    Dampen small washcloths with the steaming, infused water and then wring out.

  4. Step 4

    Set on a small dish at each guest's place.

  5. Step 5

    For an added treat, make two sets and offer each guest a towel after they eat as well.
