When I began my blog, I was clueless as to how to make a keyword clickable or a "hyperlink" that would connect to a URL. I soon learned that linking people to outside resources was going to be crucial to the success of my blog. So, I Googled it and there it was--the code that would change everything. I learned how to make any word link to a redirected URL. If I can do it, so can you.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Select the URL that you want to hyperlink to.

  2. Step 2

Copy and paste the entire URL into your blog or document. For example: http://www.howdoihyperlink.com.

  3. Step 3

Select the keyword in the sentence that you want to use to hyperlink the URL. In this case HYPERLINK will be the word

  4. Step 4

    Use the code: KEYWORD

    Example: <A HREF="www.howdoihyperlink.com"/>KEYWORD

  5. Step 5

Place your keyword in the text here: "/>KEYWORD

    Example: <A HREF="www.howdoihyperlink.com"/>HYPERLINK

  6. Step 6

Now, when the word HYPERLINK is clicked on in the sentence, it will redirect to the designated URL.

Example: I wish I could learn how to <A HREF="www.howdoihyperlink.com"/>HYPERLINK words, so that my blog gets more views.

  7. Step 7

Test the link to make sure it works. Isn't that easy?

on 7/11/2009 I appreciate the info and this works great! The only problem I am having is every word after the code (not just the one targeted to be the link) is displayed as the link. Just wondering if there was any way to get around that with this method. Thanks for any help. TL
