All of the major entertainment awards, with the exception of the TV Emmys, take place early in the year. For 2008, nice, round-figure anniversaries take place: Oscars' 80th, Grammys' 50th and the Emmys' 60th. Here's how to mark your calendar for these award ceremonies.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Calendar
  • TV

Step1
Watch the Golden Globe Awards on January 13, 2008. Hosted by the Hollywood Foreign Press Association, it covers TV and motion pictures.
Step2
Watch the Oscars on February 24, 2008. The mother of all entertainment awards, the Oscars are also known as the Academy Awards. They are hosted by the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences.
Step3
Watch the Grammy Awards on February 10, 2008. For music lovers, this is the only peer-presented award to honor artistic achievement, technical proficiency and overall excellence in the recording industry, without regard to album sales or chart position.
Step4
Watch the People's Choice Awards on January 8, 2008. Not the most famous of the lot, People's Choice covers music, TV and movies.
Step5
Watch the Emmys, hosted by the Academy of TV Arts and Sciences. The daytime and prime-time Emmys take place in the fall.
