Turn a collection of vintage buttons into a beautiful Christmas tree decoration. Here's how:

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • A styrofoam cylinder
  • Buttons
  • Sewing pins

    How to Make a Button Christmas Tree

  1. Step 1

    Attach the first button to the styrofoam cylinder by inserting a sewing pin through each button hole. Then, push them firmly into the styrofoam, until the pin heads are flush with the buttons. Note: If the holes are large you may need to insert several pins into each hole to secure them firmly.

  2. Step 2

    Repeat with the next button.

  3. Step 3

    Continue until the entire cylinder is covered with buttons.

  4. Step 4

    Attach a large button to the top of the cylinder to serve as a tree topper.

  5. Step 5

    Add any other embellishments that you'd like.

Tips & Warnings
  • Make two button Christmas trees to create a dramatic center piece or mantel display.
  • Make miniature button trees to give out as party favors.
