Prevent Car Sickness

Driving is a necessity for most people. If you are susceptible to car sickness there are things you can do to hold it at bay.

From Quick Guide: Basics of Travel Tips
Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Dramamine
  1. Step 1

Take a motion sickness pill such as Dramamine at least one half hour before any long trip in the car.

  2. Step 2

Make sure you have something in your stomach before a trip, but don't overeat.

  3. Step 3

Don't read in the car; this is a fast track to car sickness.

  4. Step 4

Try to sleep during your trip or keep your eyes closed.

  5. Step 5

Sit in the front seat if possible.

  6. Step 6

Try not to look out the window.

  7. Step 7

Dress warmly but do not wear any clothing that is tight, especially around the head and neck.

  8. Step 8

Bring a plastic bag, "just in case!"
