Things You'll Need:
-
Step 1
Check out the dollar or other discount stores for pretty bottles. Sometimes you can find pressed glass bottles or jars with cork stoppers. These make very attractive gift containers.
-
Step 2
Decide how much bath salts you are going to make. This recipe calls for about 2 cups of sea salt. Multiply that if you want to make more. The amount will depend upon how many jars or bottles you want to fill.
-
Step 3
Mix 2 cups of salt with several drops of desired color of vegetable food coloring in a large container. Stir or shake until color is distributed evenly.
-
Step 4
Once salt and color are mixed, add 1 Tbsp. mild hand soap, 1 Tbsp. olive oil and 1 tsp. desired extract. Mix thoroughly.
-
Step 5
Spread the salts on a few thicknesses of newspaper and allow to dry until dry to the touch.
-
Step 6
Use a funnel or simply spoon into jars or bottles. If desired, you can tie a ribbon around the top. Enjoy.
