Common sense Follow your instincts first of all...if it looks too good to be true then most likely it is. Pay attention to your better judgement above all else.

Never deal with anyone you cant easily meet in person. Completing your transactions locally will keep you out of trouble most of the time.
Step3
If the interested party asks you to wire money to them then you should know right away that it is a scam.
Step4
Many scams on craigslist use fake checks or money orders. Be aware of this because you will be the one found liable when the check doesn't clear.
Step5
Never give out your personal information online...this should be common sense because you never know who your dealing with on the other side of the transaction.
