Winter is when our health is challenged the most. If you suffer from frequent earaches, this remedy will bring your ear the relief it needs, especially if you are unable to get to the doctor or pharmacy.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • A newspaper
  • Matches or lighter

Step1
Take one page from a newspaper, roll until it looks like a cone. One end should be small and the other wider, approximately 30 cm in diameter.
Step2
Place the smaller end over your ear. Light the wide end of the newspaper.
Step3
Let burn. As the heat mounts toward your ear, you will hear a swishing sound. This is when the cone will break in little pieces. Remove from ear immediately.

Tips & Warnings

  • If you hear the swishing sound or the cone breaks, then the air trapped in your ear has been released. If it doesn't happen the first time, try again.
  • Dairy products like milk, butter and cheese tend to aggravate ear infections. Try to avoid consuming them during an ear infection.
