How to Sell Used Textbooks Directly to Students

Rate: (0 Ratings)

Don't sell your books back to the same rip-off merchant where you bought them. Sell them directly to your fellow students. You'll make more money, and they'll spend less.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Step1
Ask your local textbook retailers how much they're charging for used copies of the books you own, and make sure you sell them for less.
Step2
Sell your books online if you don't think there's much interest for them in your local area.
Step3
Create a flier advertising which books you have for sale. Try not to include concrete prices, but assure people that you're selling for less than the textbook stores. And don't forget to include an email address where you can be contacted.
Step4
Copy your flier, and post it around campus where the most students congregate.

Tips & Warnings

  • Set up an email address just for selling textbooks. That way, you'll avoid any unwanted messages in your personal email account or on your phone.
  • When you arrange to meet your buyer and make the sale, do it in a public place. Not that most textbook buyers are psychopaths, but safety first.
