For better search engine exposure and a rapid climb in news search engines, optimize a press release by using strategic relevant keywords. You will also give your press release a longer life!

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

You want to grab interest immediately. Make sure that your first line will sell the reader. Go for top ten placement in less than 24 hours. If first impressions count the most, this first line is the most important of the entire release. That being said, make sure the entire press release is well written. If it is not, journalists will ignore it.

  2. Step 2

Make sure the name of your company is in the title of the press release. This is a keyword. Repeat it two to three times within the article.

  3. Step 3

Find out what words people use when they look for a company or product like yours. Carefully and strategically choose top keywords for your press release. They should be in the first paragraph.

  4. Step 4

At least one of your strategic keywords should be a link as well as using words from your URL as keywords.

  5. Step 5

Your press release should have relevant and newsworthy content. These type of press releases will be picked up in the news engines, search engines and related websites.

  6. Step 6

Always add your press releases to your website. Make sure your website is linked to the press release several times by keywords within the article. Publish releases frequently so you will be known as a news source.

  7. Step 7

Make a list of publications and journalists that would be important to your press release. Send emails, faxes and/or letters to these publications and journalists. Do not sent the complete release in the correspondence. Be concise and send the URL of the whole press release within the correspondence.
