This easy to make pomander would make a great smelling gift ornament to hang at Christmas.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • An orange
  • Whole Cloves
  • Ribbon
Step1
Cloves in orange Cloves in orange Push the cloves into the rind of the orange. You may make a pretty pattern, or cover the entire orange.
Step2
Floral Orange Pomander Floral Orange Pomander Cut a piece of ribbon, 34-38" long. Place the middle of the ribbon at the top of the fruit, and draw the ends down to the bottom. Cross and twist the ribbon and draw it back up to the top, just like you were tying a package. Tie it into a bow at the top. Adding flowers is a nice touch.

White Glue White Glue If the ribbon wants to slip and slide, you can secure it with a little dab of glue at the bottom of the fruit where it crosses.
Step4
Glitter Glitter Let the kids get creative! Add glitter, flowers, raffia, and colorful ribbons, etc. to the pomander ball.

Tips & Warnings

  • You can also wrap the pomander in cheesecloth, tissue or other paper before hanging in closet.
  • After a couple of weeks, orange oil may be added to refresh the aroma.
