Many vegans think they have to miss out on festive drinks and fun over the holidays, but there are some ways to enjoy the season without skipping the eggnog. Eggnog is a popular holiday tradition, and can be made without eggs or milk, just for the vegan at your party! Here's how to make vegan eggnog.

Things You'll Need:

  • 20 oz. extra firm tofu
  • 2 cups soymilk
  • 1/2 cup honey
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 cup cold water
  • 1 cup brandy
  • 5 teaspoons vanilla extract
  • 1/4 teaspoon nutmeg
  • 1/4 teaspoon cinnamon
  • 3 cups crushed ice cubes
  1. Step 1

    Prepare the eggnog mix. Blend the tofu, soymilk, honey, and salt on medium speed in a blender until smooth.

  2. Step 2

    Add spices. Pour tofu mixture into a large bowl, and whisk in the spices, brandy, and water until well blended.

  3. Step 3

    Refrigerate. Refrigerate mixture for at least 1-2 hours until set.

  4. Step 4

    Prepare to serve. Blend eggnog mix with crushed ice to make a thick smoothie.

    Sprinkle with nutmeg and cinnamon, and serve!

Tips & Warnings
  • 2/3 cup light brown sugar can be substituted for the honey.
  • Substitute apple juice for the liquor to make a non-alcoholic version.
  • Make the eggnog thicker by adding more ice.
  • The eggnog mixture must be refrigerated to set before blending with ice.
  • Soft tofu will not get the desired texture you need.
