How to to Install a New Computer Sound Card

Installation of a new sound card can be done at home. All it requires is one screwdriver, a sound card, a computer, and patience.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

1. Shut the computer down using shut down option. Turn off computer and remove left side panel.
2. Locate an empty white slot and remove the blank metal strip associated with this slot.
3. Insert sound card and press firmly to ensure it is fully seated.
4. Replace side panel and restart computer.
5. Plug speakers into new sound card.
6. Insert install CD in disk tray.
7. Follow instructions for setup.
