Not only is your daily coffee run hard on your wallet; you could easily be spending 1000 dollars a year, but it's hard on the waistline too. A medium size, soy-based beverage with no whip cream can still top 300 calories. Added up over the course of a year, those calories will really pile up.

Difficulty: Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Figure out how many calories your favorite drink contains by going to a website dedicated to that purpose. Our 16 ounce medium 2% mocha with whip contains 365 calories.

  2. Step 2

Use a calculator to determine how many calories you consume per week. Five drinks a week is 365 * 5 or 1825 calories per week.

  3. Step 3

Multiply the weekly calorie count by 52 for a yearly value of calories consumed. 1825 * 52 = 94,900 calories per year.

  4. Step 4

If you stop drinking specialty coffee, it is possible to eliminate nearly 100,000 calories from your diet. And you'll save a lot of money in the process!
