Unlike working with extras, actually assembling them can prove to be an immensely difficult task. How do you get somebody to show up if they know that they are not getting paid and will, in no way, benefit from this favor? That is a very tough question to answer, but this tutorial will teach some ways that have actually worked for this writer.

Instructions

Difficulty: Challenging
Step1
Call your closest friends and family. Explain that you need extras and you would appreciate their help.
Step2
Call in any favors or convince your friends that helping you out will earn them one free favor from you, redeemable at any time.
Step3
Create a 'Call for Extras' document. The document should include the time, address, and description of the scene(s). It should also include an overview of the movie and tidbits about cast and crew.
Step4
Post this document on sites like MySpace, Facebook, IMDBPro, and Craigslist. Chances are, those who access those sites are likely to already have interest in opportunities like this.
Step5
Offer food! Food entices people.
Step6
Be prepared to hear the word "no" and/or many of the dumbest excuses any person will ever hear.
