How to Buy OSHA Compliance Safety Videos

The Occupational Safety and Health Administration, also known as OSHA, offers businesses compliance safety videos in an effort to make workplaces safe. These OSHA videos can be used during a company meeting to educate your staff about government safety and health standards, or they can be used to determine whether your company is compliant with all OSHA laws.

Contact your local OSHA office for information on how to buy compliance videos. While OSHA offers its information through books, forms and PDF file downloads, it does not currently offer compliance videos. An OSHA representative can recommend a specific company that makes and sells compliance videos that strictly adhere to all OSHA-mandated safety and health standards.

    • 2

Obtain all OSHA materials, such as the OSHA handbook and all employee checklists, to use in conjunction with the compliance videos. While the videos may make it easier to get the information out to your employees in a clear manner, you will still need to use the required OSHA materials to record your compliance to all OSHA standards. These materials can be obtained by contacting your local OSHA office, or by checking out the official OSHA website (see Resources below).

    • 3

Use online resources, such as the Training Network, to buy OSHA compliance videos (see Resources below). These websites will allow you to buy individual videos, which are designed to cover each OSHA topic, in both VHS and DVD format. In many cases, you can save your company a lot of money if you purchase an entire set of compliance videos at once.

    • 4

Buy OSHA compliance videos in Spanish if a significant number of your workforce does not speak English. You don't want to place some of your employees at a disadvantage, especially in terms of safety. Most companies that sell OSHA videos offer them in Spanish as well.

Find out about different types of media used to educate employees about OSHA standards. These include video downloads, CD-ROMs, Power Point presentations and other types of visual aids.

Tips & Warnings

  • The fines for non-compliance with OSHA standards can be very stiff, and they can financially cripple a small business. The amount of the fine can also grow exponentially with each subsequent violation as well.
