How to Impress a Hot Date

Want to get a second, third or tenth hot date? Know how to impress your date and she will be coming back for more! To compete in the dating world, find what it is that makes you stand out. Knowing yourself is a sure-fire way to ignite that hot date's interest in you.

Instructions

1. Be yourself. While it's great to read up on your date's interests in preparation for the big night, don't try to impress her by passing yourself off as an aficionado if you're not. That only sets you up for embarrassment down the road.

2. Dress with pride. Unless you and your date are doing an outdoor activity or something extremely casual, wear something you know you look great in. Try to choose a fabric that doesn't wrinkle easily and make sure your clothes are clean and ironed.

3. Prepare a couple of funny stories or anecdotes to help lighten the mood and break the ice.

4. Consider bringing your date a gift, a flower, or some token that would be appropriate, especially if you have been dating for a while. It shows your generosity and thoughtfulness.

5. Be courteous, regardless of whether you're a man or a woman. Holding the door open for someone is always polite, and shows consideration for the other person.

6. Use an occasional compliment. Tell him how good he smells or how nice his house looks. But never be excessive with compliments, or you'll come across as insincere.

7. Use eye contact and hold your date's gaze when talking. This may sound simple, but this behavior is sure to impress.

8. Show respect and courtesy to others in the vicinity. Your date is watching how you treat other people, and will not care how you treat her if you are rude to everyone else.

Tips & Warnings

• For new and budding romances, avoid the bar scene and choose something more sophisticated, like a hip coffee shop. The mood will be much more relaxed. Also, it's hard to tell right away how someone will hold his liquor.

• Avoid complaining about things like the weather or the restaurant service, even if you're being sarcastic. You don't want your date to see you as a negative person.

• Be careful with the kinds of jokes you tell, if any. Until you get to know your date, you can't be sure he won't find your joke offensive or in poor taste.

• Unless your hot date is someone with whom you are in a serious relationship, avoid giving an extravagant or intimate gift, such as a piece of jewelry, right off the bat.

• Avoid talking about past relationships or bad break-ups. This is a big turn-off, especially on a hot date.
