Looking hot on a date is really about confidence and self-esteem. You don't need an unlimited budget or the perfect body to look good. You just need to know how to work with what you've got! It's true that looks aren't the only important aspect of dating, but they do count. Work with your assets to look hot on a date and "wow" your potential partner.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Outfit for date
  • Essential grooming tools (toothbrush, comb or brush, moisturizer or lotion, soap)

Step1
Select an outfit that's well-suited to your body type. If you're a woman with a trim waist and larger hips, for instance, try a belted skirt or pants and avoid straight-cut dresses. If you're a man concerned about the state of your belly, don't try to hide it under a shapeless shirt--try a dark, tailored blazer for a sharp, distinguished look.
Step2
Find out for certain where you're going on your date. A slinky black dress may look hot, but it will be completely inappropriate for a date at the movies or a bowling alley. If your date wants to surprise you, hedge your bets with a pair of sleek but understated black pants, a sexy blouse and a sweater in case you need to cover up. Pressed slacks and a button-up shirt are always safe bets for men.
Step3
Select a hairstyle that will require little to no maintenance during the date. If you want to try something new, make sure that you practice this style in advance.
Step4
Choose jewelry or accessories that convey your personality, but take care not to wear something that was given to you by an ex. Chances are good that your date will compliment your necklace/watch/bracelet/ring and ask where you got it.
Step5
Take a bath or shower as close to the time of your date as possible. If you have a hot date planned for after work, try to schedule time to stop at home first--especially if your job puts you in contact with food, refuse, chemicals or anything else that might be unsanitary or carry odors.
Step6
Moisturize your skin, shave, brush your teeth and style your hair. If you have some extra time, use a loofah to exfoliate your skin in the shower, making it smooth to the touch.
Step7
Smile! Even if the rest of your look is working, your appearance is nothing without an attractive smile. Use it with eye contact.

Tips & Warnings

  • Looking hot on a date starts with your self-esteem. If you think you look hot, your date will likely think so, too.
  • Maintain a regimen of physical fitness. Exercising and staying in shape are good ways to enhance your attractiveness to your partner.
  • Good breath is an essential component to the hot look. Put a mint in your mouth before the date to freshen your breath, as well as to stave off nervousness.
  • Makeup for women should be subtle, not overdone. Too much rouge or an overpowering shade of lipstick could distract your date's attention from your other assets.
  • Take it slow while getting ready for your date. Getting a run in your pantyhose or toothpaste stain on your shirt can happen when you rush through your preparations.
