Things You'll Need:
- 1 standard pie crust
- 2 cans tuna
- 1 tbsp. cornstarch
- 2 cups cheddar cheese (shredded or chopped)
- 1/3 cup onion (more or less to taste)
- 1/2 cup mayonnaise
- 1/2 cup milk
- 2 eggs
- Salt & pepper to taste
-
Step 1
Drain, dry and mash the tuna, preferably tuna that was packed in spring water rather than oil. Keep the tuna to the side until you mix the other ingredients.
-
Step 2
Mix together the egg, milk, mayonnaise and cornstarch in a large bowl. Add the cornstarch slowly, so as to avoid clumps while you mix.
-
Step 3
Add the tuna, spices, onions and cheese. Mix well.
-
Step 4
Put a thin layer of shredded cheese on the bottom of the pie crust. Use just enough cheese to cover the bottom of the crust.
-
Step 5
Pour the quiche mixture slowly into the pie crust. As you do, spread out the hard ingredients to ensure that the mixture is placed evenly in the crust.
-
Step 6
Place the quiche uncovered in the oven for 35 to 40 minutes at 350 degrees. Check the quiche after 40 minutes to see if it's completely cooked by poking the center with a fork or knife. If it comes out clean, the quiche is fully cooked.
