Most hair removal creams, or depilatories, are not suggested for use in removing nose hair, since the fumes are usually strong and can cause dizziness or nausea when used near the face. You will need to find an effective, natural depilatory designed to be odor-free and safe for sensitive areas in order to remove your nose hair.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderate

Things You’ll Need:

  • Nose hair removal cream
  • Washcloths
  • Tweezers
  • Cotton swabs
  • Hair removal wax
Step1
Read the label of any hair removal product before you use it to remove nose hairs. The vast majority of hair removal products are not designed to be used on the face due to possible irritation to eyes, mucous membranes and sinus cavities. In addition, the cream may also leak from nostrils into your mouth.
Step2
Find a hair removal cream that is made of completely natural and organic ingredients that can remove nose hair safely and effectively. These products usually contain such ingredients as lemon juice, aloe vera, botswellia and chamomile. You may be able to find these products at beauty supply stores as well as natural vitamin and herb stores.
Step3
Use a nose hair removal cream in conjunction with another type of hair removal, such as plucking or waxing. A safe and effective depilatory cream has not yet been developed that will work on its own.
Step4
Apply the nose hair removal cream gently to the inside of the nose using your finger wrapped in a warm and wet washcloth. Allow it to soften the hairs, and then remove the cream with a dry washcloth.
Step5
Remove your nose hairs using a pair of tweezers, taking care not to pull out too many hairs at once, which will cause excessive pain. Only remove nose hairs that may be visible to others, not the ones that reside deep in your nostrils.
Step6
Wax your nose hairs after you have softened them with nose hair removal cream by applying warm wax to a cotton swab, and inserting it into your nostril. After the wax cools, remove the swab in an abrupt motion to pull out your nose hairs.

Tips & Warnings

  • When removing nose hair, take care only to remove what is visible to others, as opposed to trying to remove all the hair in your nostrils. Nose hair performs many important functions, such as trapping odors to enhance your sense of smell, and keeping dirt and foreign objects from entering your sinuses.
