Tips & Warnings
To add a spa-like sensory experience to each batch of body sugaring you make, add five to 10 drops of the essential oil of your choice to the sugar mixture once it's cool. Soothing, calming scents, like vanilla, ylang-ylang, lavender and bergamot are particularly appealing.
Choose body sugaring for a more comfortable alternative to waxing. While using body sugaring to remove unwanted hair is far less painful than waxing, it still has a sting to it. Waxing removes body hair by its roots. Body sugaring does the same thing, but in a gentler manner.
Make sure the glass jar you use to store body sugaring is microwave-safe. You don't want the jar to break when you re-heat the body sugaring.
On most people, body sugaring is safe and effective for removing unwanted hair. This includes hair on the face, back and bikini line. However, if you think you may be allergic to any of the ingredients in body sugaring or if you develop a rash after using it, check with your doctor before trying it again.
