L'Oreal home microdermabrasion kits use some of the same crystals that doctors work with when they give this complexion-altering procedure. You still need to apply the products correctly and regularly if you want to see results.

Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Washcloth
  • Moisturizer
  1. Step 1

Speak with your dermatologist before you begin any home microdermabrasion program if you have eczema, rosacea or any other skin condition. You may have success with home programs because they do not irritate your skin as much as the professional treatment.

  2. Step 2

Wash your face in the morning as usual, although don't use any soap or cleansing products. Dry your face by patting it with a washcloth. Use warm water to open up your pores for a more effective microdermabrasion treatment.

  3. Step 3

Squeeze a small amount of L'Oreal ReFinish and gently rub it on your face so that it's covered, as with a face mask. Be sure to cover your nose, but be careful not to get any cream in your eyes, nostrils or mouth.

  4. Step 4

Continue massaging the cream into your skin for 1 to 2 minutes after you've covered your face. Spend an equal amount of time in each area and be sure not to apply too much pressure to avoid irritation.

  5. Step 5

Close your eyes and rinse your face with cold water. If you can't wash off all of the cream, it will dry up in a few minutes, and then you can easily brush it off with a face cloth. Soak up any extra water with a towel, but be sure you only pat your skin and don't rub it.

  6. Step 6

Apply a moisturizer by L'Oreal to your face to help protect the new outer layer of skin. Keep a small bottle of this cream with you during the day in case you start to feel itchy. Minor skin irritation is normal after the first few applications of home microdermabrasion kits.

  7. Step 7

Use your L'Oreal home microdermabrasion treatment every other day to give your skin a chance to rest and heal. Buy other specialized L'Oreal kits to exfoliate the skin on other parts of your body.

Tips & Warnings
  • You can often find L'Oreal products for lower prices if you're willing to buy them online and wait for them to be shipped to you.
  • You must avoid wearing makeup after your first few microdermabrasion sessions, so consider using L'Oreal products in the evening if you don't want to go without your cosmetics during the day.
