For some women, being a bridesmaid can be stressful, because the title usually carries some obligations and responsibilities. Take some of the pressure off of your bridesmaids by selecting a hairstylist for them. The members of your wedding party will have fun, look beautiful and thank you for it.

Difficulty: Moderate
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Ask your bridesmaids or those close to you for hairstylist recommendations. This may save you many hours of research.

  2. Step 2

Ask your favorite hairstylist if she has stylist friends she trusts and works with frequently. You can have your stylist work on your hair while her friend or friends work on your bridesmaids and the mothers.

  3. Step 3

Ask to see pictures of past work to get a sense of a prospective stylist's grasp of fashion and the latest trends.

  4. Step 4

Inquire about fees for services and any other costs that may come up throughout the course of your wedding preparations.

  5. Step 5

Find out how many bridesmaids the prospective hairstylist can work with in a given amount of time. Do not count on the stylist to style extra people at a moment's notice. If need be, select more than one stylist to work on the wedding party.

  6. Step 6

Get the phone number and physical address of the hairstylist you select. One or more of your bridesmaids may want to consult with the stylist separately.

  7. Step 7

Ask the stylist if he specializes in any particular styles. This may come in handy if you are planning a themed wedding or have chosen a unique style of bridesmaid dress. For instance, a stylist who is adept at handling '30s-era finger curls may be perfect for your vintage-style wedding.

Tips & Warnings
  • Even if none of your bridesmaids have hairstylist recommendations, it is always a good idea to include them when you select a stylist. It's their hair, so their opinions should be valued.
  • Consider booking one stylist for you and a separate stylist for your bridesmaids. This will take the pressure off of everyone. Having your own separate stylist will help ensure that your hair is beautiful and secure, and that your veil is snugly in place.
  • Schedule more time than you anticipate needing for the hairstylist to work with all of your bridesmaids. Lack of planning could leave the stylist short on time and one or more of your bridesmaids dissatisfied with their rushed hairdos.
  • Do not get bogged down with too many individual requests from your bridesmaids. It is understandable that each bridesmaid wants a hairstyle she likes. However, you still want to maintain some uniformity in style among the members of your wedding party.
