Its hard to take notes during lectures and to try to understand what the teacher is trying to explain. Easy Solution; Buy a recorder, prefably one that can connect through your computer using a USB cord.
Record a lecture that you need to study. You can also read your notes and record yourself on the recorder.
Step2
Then transfer the lecture to your computer.
Step3
Convert to mp3 format.
Step4
Then either burn a cd using the mp3 of the lecture or you can transfer to your mp3 player. If your phone supports mp3, you can also transfer to your phone.

Ok, Ill speak on the other side, as a student. I feel that using a recorder, which was allowed by my professors, is an excellent tool. Especially if you are working a full time job during the day and attend school at night. Sometimes you are exhausted and your mind is really not there. Using a recorder on nights like that allowed me to really absorb the material later, when I was rested and focused. Great tip!

I find that recorders are counter productive. They lead to have students not pay attention in class. It also makes students not think they have to take notes. The point is to take listen to a lecture, take notes and review them; that is how you learn; use multiple inputs.

Speaking as a teacher I can tell you that not all of us allow recorders in the classroom. The lectures belong to the school and are considered copyrighted.
