Losing your child in public can be a terrifying experience. Keep them safe by following some simple steps.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • Your child
  • A picture of you
  • A picture of your child

Help your child know what to do if they are seperated from you.

  1. Step 1

Make sure your child knows as much personal information about themselves as possible. Examples include their full name, telephone number, mom and dad's name, address.

  2. Step 2

Pick a spot to meet. In the event of separation, choose a spot that is central and easy for everyone to get to.

  3. Step 3

Advise your child about strangers. Tell them to look for an official if they become lost.

  4. Step 4

Carry a picture of your child. This will come in handy when the need arises to have park officials searching for your child. Also, give a picture of you to your child to carry in his or her pocket. This can be especially helpful if your child is too small or to scared to remember mom or dad's name. Put personal information on the back of the picture.

  5. Step 5

For the very young, consider the leash. This may seem odd or uncomfortable for some parents, but it's better than losing the child.
