Are you plagued with zits (aka pimples)? Those nasty little bumps full of puss or blackheads? As a teenager, it was a constant battle keeping my face zit free. I would pop them, and that created a bigger problem, leaving dark spots in their places. Every time I got stressed out or on my monthly, they would pop out like popcorn. I was told they would go away and stop coming after I got old, but I didn't want to wait that long, or suffer through my prime years with nasty little pimples. Zits on a male are a turn off for me, so I figured my zits would turn the males off as well. I realized I needed to deal with the zits if I was ever going to get, and keep, the man of my dreams. After several experiments, I found a simple solution that didn't cost me an arm and a leg in medical bills or drug store products. After dealing with my zits, I became one of Ebony Magazines most Eligible Bachlorettes in the World. Shortly after that, I married a wonderful man and we have been happily married with children ever since. We just celebrated our 28th wedding aniversary. I found the best way to deal with zits and acne is to prevent them from popping out in the first place. Here is how I cleared my face of zits and prevented them from returning: I washed my face and body every day with dial antibacterial soap. I was careful not to use a face cloth or rag on my face. I started using my hands to spread the soap and rinse my face and stopped using a rag on it. I started using a moisturizer at night to prevent the anti-bacterial soap I was using from drying my skin out. I stopped eating greasy foods like French fries and potato chips. All fried foods became the enemy. Green, leafy vegetables became my friends. I stopped drinking soda pop and added more water to my diet (6 to 8 glasses a day). The hardest part was giving up Chocolates and candy, but I knew if I wanted my face zit free, junk food was out. Changing my diet worked two-fold. It helped eliminate the zit problem and helped to keep the weight down. The better I looked, the more confident and content I became which helped to keep the stress down. Now, at age 52, I no longer panic if I get a Zit. I just drag out the alcohol and my trustworthy make up kit. First, I dab it with alcohol, then I cover it with the stick!

on 12/13/2007 Great Article. I loved the picture of beetlejuice. I don't think I could have found one more fitting for this. Thanks again.
