Shine Your Stones
Shine Your Stones

You can restore your jewels shine by using the following guide. I'll show you how to polish the most common stones.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions

Things You'll Need:

  • toothbrush
  • eyeshadow brush
  • mild soap
  • delicate cloth
  1. Step 1

Sapphires and rubys are less delicate than other stones. Soak these in a mixture of warm water and mild soap (you can use dish-washing liquid) then rinse and dry.

  2. Step 2

Pearls are quite fragile and shouldn't be handled excessively. Wiping with a damp cloth should remove surface dirt and restore shine.

  3. Step 3

You probably don't know that turquoise is very porous and absorbs liquids. To prevent this stone from becoming discolored, do not use cleaners. Simply wipe clean with a dry cloth.

  4. Step 4

Diamonds are pretty durable. Soak them in warm water and soap, scrub and rinse. You can also use toothpaste. Just dab a little on your brush, scrub and rinse to bring serious shine to your diamonds.

Tips & Warnings
  • Do not wash your stones together as they could get scratched
