It seems that almost everybody has a good light bulb joke to tell. In fact the funny thing is that when it actually comes time to change out our own light bulbs we sometimes are goofy too. Changing a tube florescent bulb can be challenging mostly because they are usually set in a light base; which is on the ceiling and can be hard to reach. How to Change a Tube Florescent Bulb

Step1
Purchase the tube fluorescent bulb/s:
A short trip to your local hardware store should provide you with any tube fluorescent bulbs you will need; and a step stool if necessary.
Step2
Use the step stool to reach the bulb:
Set the stool underneath the light you wish to change and use it to reach the bulb.
Step3
Remove the light cover:
Usually tube fluorescent bulbs are housed in a base with a light cover. These light covers are made of bendable plastic and removing them is easy. Simply bend the cover inwards with your hands on both sides and it will easily pop out.
Step4
Remove the old bulb:
These types of light bulbs have prongs at the ends which slide in through little notches in the connectors and turn to lock into place. Gently grip the tube with one hand on the middle and one hand at the base, and slowly turn it to unlock the bulb.
Step5
Discard of old bulb:
Now that you have removed the spent tube you can discard of it and grab a hold of the new tube.
Step6
Install new bulb:
Match up the prongs on the end of the tube with the connector slot and slowly slide the tube in place. Once the tube fluorescent bulb is in place slowly turn it to lock it.
