A kitty cat can make a wonderful pet. If you are a cat lover you know that a kitty cat is truly unique. They can learn tricks, they will guard you and your possessions-and they will make it their number one priority to keep mice out of your home! If you are not a kitty cat lover, think on the following reasons why kitty cats are beloved by their owners.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

    Kitty cats are independent.

While it is true that cats can truly bond and adore their owners, they still keep their independent streaks alive and well. You will not catch many kitty cats licking their owner's feet or groveling and begging for attention like a canine. No, a kitty cat is perfectly content to shower attention on you when she wants to express her feelings. If she does not want interaction, she is content in who she is as a cat and perfectly capable of being by herself.

  2. Step 2

A kitty cat has self confidence.

Because cats have self assurance, many people misinterpret them as cold animals. But, cats are not cold or unfeeling. A kitty cat loves her owners deeply. Put it this way, if a kitty cat comes up to you and sits on your lap you know that you are loved. You cannot say this for canines. Canines often have ulterior motives such as wanting to eat or play! Not to say that canines are not good pets. They are. It's just that many people who do not know anything about cats presume they should act like dogs. When they don't, people assume that cats are strange animals.

  3. Step 3

Young kitty cats can be very entertaining to watch.

The unique thing about a kitty cat is they do not do the things they do to entertain their owners--unlike canines! Everything a kitty cat does is based on instinct and desire. A kitty cat can be dozing in dreamland one minute and flying across the room in another. They can act like they are clueless as to what is going on in the home--and before you know it they have killed a mouse that has crept in unaware.

No one will probably ever get into the psyche of a kitty cat. Doing so would take the mystery and attraction away from the animal.

  4. Step 4

If you are planning to adopt a kitty cat because you think she will liven up your home for years to come, you may want to reconsider. While it is true that kittens and young cats are very curious and entertaining, as a cat ages she will generally sleep most of the day. The only thing that will get most older cats to bat an eyelash is if a rodent invades the home or a new pet is brought into the home.

  5. Step 5

If you are planning to bring a kitty cat into your family you should look at it as a life long commitment. You should know that felines can live fifteen or more years. Since they bond so deeply with their owners you should only adopt one if you are certain you can provide her with love and attention her entire life.
