2. One way you can use boxes to entertain your cat is to purchase cat toys that move or roll and put them inside a box. Cut holes in the box large enough for your cat to put her paws in, but not large enough to get the cat toy out. Watch your cat as her tail swishes as her brain goes to work on how to get at the cat toys.
3. Other unique things that make for interesting cat toys can include rolled up balls of newspapers, laser lights, soap bubbles and even a roll of toilet paper.
4. If you want to truly turn your cat’s instinct on you should purchase a child’s fishing rod. Attach feathers to the end of it and cast the feathers out into the cat’s line of vision. You can spend hours entertaining your cat this way.
5. Cat toys should stimulate your cat’s instincts--whether it is her sense of smell, her hearing, sight or hunting instinct. Purchasing or making the right kind of cat toys can also work to your advantage. Once your cat has played for a couple of hours she will be more than ready to couch out and take one of her long naps--instead of stalking you, your other pets or looking for some innocent cat mischief to occupy her time.
