Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Medicated vaporizing chest rub
  • old pair of socks
  • gloves
  • Soap and water
  • Towel

How to soften and soothe cracked, dry feet

Step1
Purchase any generic brand of medicated vaporizing chest rub. This ointment contains petroleum along with various other ingredients such as eucalyptus oil, menthol, and various other natural ingredients that help to soothe and soften cracked, dry feet.
Step2
Wash and dry your feet completely. This will aid the application process of the ointment and have better results.
Step3
Put on gloves. The ointment is fairly greasy from the ingredient of the petroleum and this will help in avoiding any discomfort while applying the ointment to your feet. Also, some may find the menthol irritating to their hands.
Step4
Rub the ointment generously onto your feet, in between your toes and on your toe nails. This helps in softening your feet and your toe nails.
Step5
After you have applied the desired amount to your feet, carefully put on the old clean pair of socks. If you have to walk around after your application you will find the petroleum will attract any dirt in the floor that you walk on and can possibly stain your socks. Which is the reason for having an old pair that you don't care about.
Step6
Discard the gloves and relax.
Step7
Repeat daily until symptoms clear. Afterwards use once or twice a week.

Tips & Warnings

  • Try to pick a time when you can relax for this application.
  • Do not apply before going to work, school or any other situation in where you will be wearing shoes and on your feet for a given period of time. If you do, you will find the experience to be unpleasant as the menthol and the mixture of your sweat will irritate you and your feet.
  • Some find it better to apply before they go to bed, while others prefer not to. Use your own judgment.
  • This is not intended to cure any diseases or illness.
  • Do not apply to open wounds, cuts or sores.
  • This is not intended to replace the advice of a health care professional.
  • This opinion is based off of personal experience.
