Joomla templates are both a bane and a boon. Joomla templates are what you will use to plan and design the layout of your Joomla website. They are a bane because they may limit your web design options. On the other hand, you need little or even zero knowledge of PHP or HTML to create and manage a dynamic, powerful website. When you install Joomla, it comes standard with at least two default templates. These can be found under the templates manager. To get a preview of each template, hover your mouse cursor over its name. You have the option of installing a different template altogether, or you may change or customize the default template. To switch to a different template, you simply click on its radio button and then click on the default button in the menu bar. There are countless Joomla templates available online. Some of these templates are free, some commercial. (See Resources below for links to Joomla templates). Read on to learn more.
