Proverbs 3:9: " Honor the LORD with your wealth, with the first fruits of all your crops." This tells us that whatever wealth God has blessed us with is from Him. To honor Him for this gift, we are to tithe our best offerings to Him--not with what's leftover.

Proverbs 11:4: "Wealth is worthless in the day of wrath, but righteousness delivers from death." Wealth may be enjoyed during our lives on earth, but it is worthless when we die. Wealth will not buy us eternal life, but righteousness will through Jesus Christ.

Proverbs 11:16: "A kindhearted woman gains respect, but ruthless men gain only wealth." Respect is highly valued. It is a kingdom value where wealth has little importance.

Proverbs 11:28: "Whoever trusts in his riches will fall, but the righteous will thrive like a green leaf." If a person fully depends on his riches, they will fall at some point, and have no real hope. Living a righteous life empowered by the Holy Spirit is a thriving life that brings life (green leaf) to them and to others in the way of bringing them encouragement to rely on God and not on money.

Proverbs 17:16: "Of what use is money in the hand of a fool, since he has no desire to get wisdom?" The beginning of wisdom is fear of God. Fear does not mean to be afraid, but to hold in high respect and awe. If one does not want to know God, they are foolish.

Proverbs 22:2: "Rich and poor have this in common: The LORD is the Maker of them all." All people are equal in the eyes of the Lord. He created them equally and loves them equally. Wealth does not purchase the favor of the Lord.

Proverbs 22:16: "He who oppresses the poor to increase his wealth and he who gives gifts to the rich-both come to poverty." If someone who has wealth mistreats someone who is poor, they are both impoverished in different ways. The wealthy mans character and integrity are impoverished.
