How to Keep a Vacation Log

While we are away on vacation, most of us think we will remember every sight and smell for the rest of our lives. The truth is, over time, our memories fade to merely the images depicted in the snapshots we took. Keeping a vacation log can help maintain your memories fresh and be used later to create scrapbooks, or be the basis for a vacation journal your whole family can participate in.

Instructions

Difficulty: Moderately Easy

Things You’ll Need:

  • Notebook
  • Pen or pencil
  • Brochures or postcards from your visit
  • Photos

Step1
Start on Day 1 jotting down your day's itenerary. It does not matter if you do not stick to your plan, as long as you make a note of it for later.
Step2
When you arrive at the location, note the basic information about it. What are you going to do there? How much does it cost? What is the weather like?
Step3
After the visit to this place or the completion of the activity, allow yourself or another family member to jot down how it went. Was it worth it? What did they enjoy most about it?
Step4
Collect the agendas and notes from each day of your trip, keeping little things like the brochures or ticket stubs from your adventures.
Step5
Later, compile this information, along with photos, postcards, souvenirs, and other snippets into a scrapbook of your vacation.
