How to Clean an Oven that isn't Self-Cleaning!

If you have an oven that is not equipped with a self-cleaning feature use this simple technique for an easy clean-up.

Instructions

Difficulty: Easy

Things You’ll Need:

Step1
Preheat the oven to 200º degrees Fahrenheit and then turn the oven off.
Step2
Place a small glass bowl containing 1/2 cup of ammonia on the center shelf.
Step3
Close the oven door and leave the bowl of ammonia in overnight.
Step4
The next day open the oven and allow it to air for 20 minutes in a well ventilated kitchen. Wipe up the mess with a warm, damp paper towel.

Tips & Warnings

  • Make sure you turn the oven Off before placing the ammonia inside!
