Matching your speakers to the type of stereo you is easy with a little bit of knowledge about stereos and speakers.

Difficulty: Moderately Easy
Instructions
  1. Step 1

Check the manual that came with the stereo to find out what wattage rating the unit can handle.

  2. Step 2

Match your speakers to the stereo based on the ohm's rating and the wattage.

  3. Step 3

The wattage should be listed at its highest level, while speakers come with a range of wattage, from 5 watts to 100 watts as an example.

  4. Step 4

Make certain that the wattage rating for the stereo is within the range of the speakers. Speakers that can't handle the wattage of the stereo will sound fuzzy and eventually blow out.
